Foodgrains Bank 1On Sunday December 23rd at 3pm, Sackville United Church will be hosting a performance of “Dream A Dream: A Christmas Cantata” with music by Ron Klusmeier and words by Shirley Erena Murray.  This cantata is presented as a fundraiser for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, whose mission is:

“Dream a Dream” will be presented as part of a lesson & carols style event featuring readings both from scripture and from the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.  Among our readers is Margaret Tusz-King, a national board member for the Foodgrains Bank.  The event will include both music from the cantata and an opportunity for the audience to join us in singing more familiar carols.  Jennie Del Motte will be leading the choir.

Admission is free, and there will be a freewill offering as part of the event.  100% of funds raised will go to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.

As we think of the story of Mary, a pregnant mother who was displaced and forced to flee her home with her young child, who must have struggled to find food and suffered hunger and malnutrition as her family escaped to Egypt, we are inspired to take action to support the millions of young mothers just like her in the world today.

Please join us for a musical celebration for a very good cause.
