Ministry of Word and Sacrament

Our worship together on Sunday mornings is an essential part of our life together as a congregation. Our services include times of prayer, scripture, music, and reflection combined with a time for young worshippers and a weekly sermon. Attention to social justice is another regular part of our services through our weekly Minute for Mission, which we often personalize with stories of our members and friends and their own outreach projects.

Music is a central part of our weekly worship, featuring hymns both classic and contemporary on piano and pipe organ, as well as choral anthems and solos. Our ministry of music works to complement and enhance the spirituality of spoken worship, with selections chosen weekly to work with the scripture and sermon. Special musical guests of all genres are always welcome!

Sackville United Church Choir

Our choir is made up of anywhere between 5-25 singers each Sunday, with anthems ranging from Mozart to Michael Jackson to Tallis to Carole King. All ages and levels of musical experience/talent are welcome – no one is ever turned away, and no audition is necessary. The choir rehearses in the church sanctuary (110 Main St) on Saturday mornings at 11am.

Ministry in the Home

Volunteers provide ministry and Holy Communion to those who are unable to leave their homes on both short and long-term bases. Volunteers also offer this outreach ministry at the local Drew Nursing Home for both its residents and those of the surrounding cottages.
